St Michael

St Michael (Michael meaning "One who is like God") is the Archangel, viewed as the Field Commander of the Army of God. He drove out Lucifer and his Angels when they fought against God (Revelation 12. 7-12).

Feast - 29th September (Celebtrated with Gabriel, Raphael and all angels)

There are many churches in Cumbria dedicated to St Michael - Our church in Workington, Muncaster, Arlecdon and Our Lady & St Michael RC in Workington. There are also many churches dedicated to St Michael and All Angels - among them Beetham and Hawkshead.
