Many years ago St Michael's boasted a large choir made up of numerous boys and a few older men. A fading group photograph in the choir vestry depicts them in what appears to be the old Rectory garden.

More recently a much diminished choir with more ladies then men and few, if any, boys sang at Evensong.

Today the choir of about a dozen ladies and four men sing lustily at the 9.30am Eucharist and on special occasions. These few have acquired a very good reputation and have been invited to sing at other churches.

Unfortunately young people seem reluctant to join the choir but would be very welcome. Why not come along to St Michael's and hear us or, even better, join us. We'll supply you with our blue gowns and a place in the choir stalls.

Contact the church to find out more. We will be delighted to hear from you.
